The flat is accessed by a secure buzzer and intercom system, with keys for the main access door and the flat front door. Keys will be given to you on the day of arrival, additional sets of keys available on request.

There is private parking at the front of the property and a communal garden.

There is a bike shed for the flat which can be used if requested. York is a bike friendly area and there are a number of rental shops is this is your desired method of transport.

There are recycling bins and other larger disposal units within the court.

The flat is situated inside the City Walls in an area called Walmgate. Walmgate is just 5 minutes walk into the centre of town and despite not being on the main tourist trail it is one of York's more interesting and varied streets. There is a mix of some historic and attractive buildings alongside more modern apartments. Leading up to the flat there is an interesting jumble of shops, restaurants and pubs. These include some of York's best- J Bakers (Good Food Guide 2010), The award winning Blue Bicycle and Loch Fyne as well as some fantastic pubs and a range of Vintage clothes shops and delicatessens. At the bottom of Walmgate is Walmgate Bar. The only bar which has managed to retain its Barbican.

This ground floor flat is part of a small block with 5 other flats. These are located in a small court yard off the main street. There is a large local convenience store directly opposite the flat and a main Supermarket around 200 yards away.

York Railway Station is 1 mile from the flat.

Renowned for its Roman, Viking, and Medieval heritage attractions like and the iconic York Minster and JORVIK Vicking Museum are very popular. Other attractions include the National Railway Museum, Art Galleries, boat trips on the Ouse and an excellent selection of shops. For those wishing to venture a little further, the North York Moors is easily accessible by taking the A19 north and into the heart of this breathtaking countryside.

York is also home to York race course which hosted Ascot a few years ago. There are regular race meetings throughout the summer with the first this year May 13th 2010.
